It collects what a brochure needs and nothing else. Nothing here is sold, and no advertising cookie is set unless you say yes. 316 Software Inc., British Columbia, Canada. Last updated 8 September 2026. ## What it collects Five things, and four of them happen whether you want them or not because the site cannot be served without them. - **The contact form**: Your name, email, and message, plus company, phone and the service you picked if you filled those in. It is emailed straight to [info@316software.com](mailto:info@316software.com) through Cloudflare Email Sending. There is no database behind this site: the message is an email in an inbox, and that is the whole of it. - **The bot check on that form**: Cloudflare Turnstile, which tells a person from a script. It reads your IP address and some properties of your browser and gives the page a token the server checks. It sets no cookie for advertising and does not follow you across sites. Cloudflare’s [Turnstile Privacy Addendum](https://www.cloudflare.com/turnstile-privacy-policy/) covers what Cloudflare does with it. - **Page counts**: Cloudflare Web Analytics, turned on at the network rather than in the page: which page was opened, where the link came from, the country, and roughly what kind of device. No cookie, no fingerprint, no identifier that follows one visitor from one page to the next. - **Server logs**: The ordinary record of a request reaching Cloudflare: IP address, time, URL, user agent. It is how a site is kept up and attacks are noticed, and it is short-lived. - **The Meta Pixel, and only if you accept**: If you accept the cookie bar, Meta’s tag loads and reports that you opened a page: the URL, your IP address and your browser, to Meta. It is there so an ad for 316Software can be shown to people who have read this site, and it reports page views and nothing else. It never runs before you answer, and a no is remembered exactly as long as a yes. ## Cookies, and how to change your mind One cookie, and it needs your yes. Two things kept in the browser that never leave it. - **`_fbp` and `_fbc` · cookies, Meta**: Set only after you accept, so Meta can recognise the browser it already saw. Roughly three months. Declining later deletes them. - **`316-consent` · local storage**: Your answer to the bar and the date you gave it, kept a year so you are asked once. It is never sent anywhere, including to us. - **`316-theme` · local storage**: Whether you asked for the light sheet, the dark one, or whatever your system says. Also never sent anywhere. - **The booking panel on [/contact](https://316software.com/contact)**: Once a message is sent, the page offers a 30-minute call in a Google Calendar frame. Opening it puts you on Google’s page inside this one, and Google sets its own cookies there under its own policy. Not opening it sets nothing. ### Change your answer [Reopen the cookie bar](#cookies) and pick the other one. Accepting starts the tag on the next page; declining stops it and deletes what Meta set. ## Who else sees it Four companies, each doing one job. None of them buys anything from us, because nothing here is for sale. - **Cloudflare**: Serves the site, delivers the form email, runs the bot check and counts the pages. United States and its global network. - **Google**: Carries the 316Software mailbox (Google Workspace), so your message lands there, and hosts the booking calendar. - **Meta**: Only if you accept, and only page views. Handled under Meta’s own terms and policy once it reaches them. ### Where it goes These are American companies with worldwide networks, so your data is processed outside Canada and is subject to the laws of wherever it sits. That is the trade for a site that loads quickly everywhere, and it is worth saying plainly rather than burying. ## What you can ask for PIPEDA and British Columbia’s PIPA give you these. One email reaches the person who can act on them, because there is only one person. - **A copy, or a correction**: Ask what is held about you and it comes back, or say what is wrong and it gets fixed. In practice this is the email you sent. - **Deletion**: Ask and the correspondence goes. A message is kept only as long as the conversation is live or the work it led to needs it. - **Your consent back**: [Reopen the bar](#cookies) and decline. No email needed, and nothing else on the site changes. - **A complaint that goes over our head**: If the answer here is not good enough, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia both take complaints directly. ### Ask [info@316software.com](mailto:info@316software.com).
